What's going on everybody, 7L checking in and yes, we know-it's been a long ass time, so lets skip the small talk and get right to it. First up, A New Dope will be available everywhere on June 27th. As some of you may already know, this album is a somewhat different direction for us, as we set aside any sonic expectaions we have when going into recording an album. There was no templet for this album for us, we wiped our slate clean. As far as my approach on the beat tip, I didn't turn the mpc on once, I used my basic set up, SP1200 and the Roland 303. In additon Esoteric knocked out a bunch of beats for this album as well, so all around its just been a different process for us. We will have new audio up shortly, and the new single will be dropping on May 9th. The single will feature Play Dumb backed with Daisycutta featuring Kool Keith. Of course this is just a small update, so keep checking back, as we promise to keep the info flowing. In the meantime you can check our myspace page (www.myspace.com/7lesoteric) for upcoming shows and music.
So, in the mean time, cop The Torture Papers if you already haven't. Too Much Posse, a collection of Esoterics collabo's is out now as well. Check out the Main Flow and 7L review in the latest SCRATCH magazine (Roots cover) and in HHC as SINGLE OF THE MONTH for "Where I am From" bw/ "Top Scholars" feat. Esoteric. As for the Main Flow/7L album, it drops at the end of the summer, and I promise its not dated material, as I realise this album has been talked about for some time now. We been constantly cranking out new tracks, so you will be getting the cream of the crop, from both of us.
